Golf

"Hole-in-One"as the Tyroleans would say. The Tyrol is the golfer’s paradise in the Alps. No other Austrian county has more golf courses than the Tyrol, here in the heart of the Alps. In close proximity to the Hotel Tiroler Adler you can enjoy a round of golf: • Golf Course Lärchenhof – Erpfendorf: 9-hole Championship Course, just 5 kilometres away. Golf Club Reit im Winkl / Kössen: 18-hole golf course, only 20 kilometres away.; Country Club Brandhof – Saalfelden: 18-hole golf course, venue for international tournaments, just 20 kilometres away.; Golf Club Kaiserwinkel – Kössen: 18-hole golf course, on a sunny plateau, just 20 kilometres away.; Golf Walchsee – Walchsee: 9-hole golf course, located on the largest upland moor in Austria, just 25 kilometres away.; Golf Course Wilder Kaiser – Ellmau: 18-hole golf course, at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range, just 25 kilometres away.; Golf Course Schwarzsee – Kitzbühel: 18-hole golf course, with great water hazards, just 30 kilometres away.; Golf Course Kaps – Kitzbühel: 9-hole golf course, traditional but with a punch, only 30 kilometres away.; Golf Course Rasmushof – Kitzbühel: 9-par-3-hole in the famous finishing area of the legendary Kitzbühel downhill race, just 30 kilometres away.; Golf Course Urslautal – Maria Alm: 18-hole golf course at the foot of the Steinernen Meer mountain range, just 35 kilomtres away.; Golf Course Eichenheim – Aurach: 18-hole golf course, very challenging, just 35 kilometres away.; Golf Zell am See – Kaprun: 2 x 18-hole golf courses, only 60 kilometres away.

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides

Sightseeing with a difference. Take a look at the Pillersee Valley Holiday Region from a slightly different perspective. Explore the beautiful local countryside comfortably and traditionally from a horse-drawn carriage. And if you have any questions your coachman will do his best to answer these for you.

Canyoning

Abseiling, climbing, jumping, sliding, swimming and even diving are all part of your exciting journey through the gorge. Naturally appropriate equipment and sportswear are provided. This adventure sport became popular in Spain and the South of France about 20 years ago. The sport has become increasingly popular here in the Northern Alps over the last few years. In addition to the adventure aspect of this sport, the close encounter with the natural beauty of the area, team-spirit and mutual trust also play an important role. Within a 20 km radius of the hotel you will find 4 different out door activity centres. Guests staying at our hotel receive preferential treatment and special rates at the Motion Outdoor Centre in Lofer. Ask at the hotel for further details. We are happy to organise your white-water excursion, all you need to do is enjoy the effects of the adrenalin kick and our staff and Motion will sort out the rest.

Climbing

The kingdom of the Golden Eagle. There has been some much written and sung about the Edelweiss. The craggy rock faces of the Steinplatte Massif provide an ideal habitat for these protected Alpine flowers and the perfect practice ground for climbers.  At the outset we would recommend the fixed rope route. For experienced climbers the Climbing Paradise Steinplatte has numerous routes of varying difficulty. Having conquered the steep rock walls of the Steinplatte you will have a bird’s eye view of the Pillersee Valley and the mountain village of Waidring in the kingdom of the Golden Eagle.
